The summer months are upon us, and Jason's Books & Coffee is ready to be a part of your warm-weather enjoyment.

Party at the Bookstore!

Join us for the "fifth Wednesday" (i.e., special event) salon on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. From 4p to 6:30p, space will be available for quiet writing and one-on-one critiques with Jason. At 6:30, we'll hold a potluck cookout. Jason will supply burgers and brats; you bring a dish to pass, if you'd like. No cost or obligation!

June Salon Topics

The agenda looks like this:

  • June 5: Game Night! (No specific programming.)
  • June 12: Book Club (We're discussing Violet Evergarden.)
  • June 19: Big Think (What do we owe to each other?)
  • June 26: Crafting Seminar (Voices of Authenticity: Writing What You Know — and What You Don’t)

As with all Salon days, we've got free writing and critiques from 4p to 6:30, with the weekly topic starting thereafter.

State of the Stacks & Book Buybacks

We've recently taken in something like 1,500 used books, 2/3rds of which are religious. We don't have enough carts for all these books, so you'll see them on tables, chairs, and the floor. Please bear with us as we find appropriate shelving for all these new treasures!

Because we're out of space, we ask that folks interested in our book buyback program hold off bringing new materials in until after Independence Day, unless we've already worked with you and have an arrangement in place.

June Closures

The next five weeks will be a wee bit wonky. We're closed Friday, May 24, and Monday, May 27, for Memorial Day. We're also closing on two consecutive June Fridays (the 7th and 14th) for personal – but fun! – reasons.

Most Tuesdays will see our friend Allison open the store; Jason will be in later in the day, after Cade's chemo.
